Improved on Perfection

I owned one of the first HB Big Mouths ... it came time to get another ( I cracked the bowl ) This version is wonderful all the blades store inside , the chopping blade is lower and can chop smaller amounts . The power is amazing. The suction cups on the bottom hold it in place but don't require a weight lifting belt to get it free from the counter , like the first version did. I gave away my new KitchenAid in favor of this product , the KitchenAid was damaged in one light use. I have a large family 7 kids , 2 parents , 2 employees and this Big Mouth can handle what ever I through at it. I highly recommend this product.

Not so impressed...

We liked this much better then the garbage black n decker cheap one we bought 2 years ago, but the plastic hub that holds the top slicer stripped in 3 weeks of use on this. The motor is strong, but putting hard foods like carrots in puts wear and tear on that hub very quickly. One turned sideways and wedged itself in the cutting blade jamming the machine, and the plastic hub stripped. If it was metal there wouldn't be an issue, but stripping in 3 weeks is obviously a design flaw.

great little product

My wife and I can our own vegetables each year. Previously we have used a hand chopper to process the veggies for our relish. We bought this product last winter and have not used it until this summer. Wow! What a great little product. This has made our job much easier. 5 or 6 pulses and the load is done. With our arthritis problems, this is a life saver.

I ordered the deluxe food processor and got the 3-cup in error. I have not used this product and am still awaiting a response from Amazon about a credit back to my card. I think the 3-cup was $20.00, and I paid 30.00 for the deluxe.

Amazon.com Review
With a 350-watt motor and a 7-cup bowl, this inexpensive tool puts a family-size food-processor's versatility and ease into a cook's hands at a bargain price. The processor's S-shaped stainless-steel blade kneads bread dough and chops and minces a variety of foods, from nuts to meat to cheese to vegetables and fruits. The reversible stainless-steel disc blade slices and shreds fruits and vegetables, and, with two speeds to choose from and a pulse control, the processor offers classic flexibility for fine work. Beginners will appreciate the control panel's chart, which lists the appropriate blades and speeds for specific tasks. The processor measures 12-1/2 by 8-1/4 by 7 inches and sits on rubber feet to prevent skidding. The bowl, cover, and blades are dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

Love this food processor!

I purchased this FP 4 1/2 years ago and it is still running strong. I have grated, diced, and mixed well over 1500 pounds of food and have yet to experience any problems.Christmas, 2 years ago, I was making a dough that was so thick, the motor was barely going, even on the high setting. I was horrified to see smoke pouring out of the back of the stand, so I shut it off and figured that I had killed it for certain. Not so! After cooling down for half hour or so, it was up and running again as though nothing had happened.I use this when I puree my pumpkin each fall. Over the course of 3 or 4 days, I generally do around 200-300 pounds of pumpkin and this FP has sailed through with out any problems. This includes running times into the hours. (4 or 5 hours at a time without any longer than a 30 second break between batches)I have dropped it... it fell into a sink of water...it was in a box that fell down a flight of stairs... I have basically done anything and everything one would think would cause it to be destroyed and yet it just won't quit!I would recommend this FP to anyone looking for a workhorse for a good price. I would be lost without mine and consider it the most important small appliance in my kitchen.

Wonderful!

The product does the job. It can chop, mince, puree, you name it. I found it very useful and I am extremely happy with the purchase. The product is powerful 350W, has large capacity. The product can even ground meat. I no longer buy ground meat in a package off a shelf from grocery stores. You can control fat and lean. You can buy a block of cheese and use this product to shred them. Carrot cake? This is what you need. The best of all, you can save money that way even more with this product. Pulse action allows you to make pie dough as well. I can not stress enough how easy the clean up is. All you need to do is to quickly rinse them and place them in your dishwasher. Anything else, you simply wipe them off with a damp cloth.

Nice food processor for your basic needs at a great price

I bought this about 3 months ago for my mom, and so far we haven't had any problems. Overall, I am satisfied with the product. We use it to puree, knead and grind things. The large capacity bowl is just the perfect size. I haven't used the slicing blade yet, but I guess the chill lid is useful to collect the sliced stuff outside. The mouth is a bit small unless you don't mind cutting up things to feed through the mouth. If it were up to me, I would change the design and make it less bulky and easier to store. I like the big mouth food processors that don't have the control on the side, taking up less space. But for $25, this is a pretty good one and functions quite well. If you buy it, make sure the bowl and the lid are well "locked" in place before you power on the unit, otherwise it won't run.

Works like a charm!

I have never owned a food processor before and this machine truly does what it says it's going to do. Chops, blends, and is easy to use. My boyfriend and I are now obsessed with making hummus from scratch and using it to make soup and purees. I highly recommend this easy to use, easy to clean affordable machine!

A Remarkable product

This food processor is the easiest to use, clean up is a "snap" food does not get caught up in the shoot, everything from cheese to carrots grates up into the best texture for salads, oriental dishes, & the cheese grated in this item comes out firm, with each piece firm not "globed" into one chunk. I love my Hamilton Beach food processor & wouldn't trade it for any other product on the market to this date. I have always had problems with a food processor, getting it apart, cleaning it has always been a "call the husband for help" ordeal, NOT this Hamilton Beach, I take it apart with ease, put it together with ease. I could reccomend this item for people with hand problems I feel that strongly about loving this item.

I used my first Hamilton Beach Food Chopper for 10 years until it just wore out. Now I want another one just like it. The appliance is small but strong and versitle. Good for all veggies, fruits, cheese and meats. What more can you ask for?
